Maggiore Named N. Hampton Selectmen Chairman
Appointment one of several changes during recent meeting.

Jim Maggiore is the new chairman of the North Hampton Board of Selectmen, as he defeated Jon Rineman 2-1 during a regular meeting last week.
Maggiore was elected during the board's May 23 meeting after nominating himself for the position, telling fellow selectmen Rineman and Phil Wilson it was something he "would like to do."
Rineman also was nominated for the position, although he received only his vote, while Maggiore and Wilson voted in favor of Maggiore as chairman.

Rineman was chosen as the board's new vice chairman, and each individual on the three-member board was also chosen as representatives to a variety of town committees and subcommittees.

Maggiore will serve as the selectmen's representative on the budget committee, the heritage commission, the labor negotiations committee and the cable television committee. He will also serve as the selectmen's liaison to the water commission.
Wilson, a new member of the board following a town meeting election victory earlier in May, will serve as the representative for the planning board and the code of ethics committee. He will also serve as the selectmen's liaison to North Hampton Forever.
Rineman will serve as the alternate selectmen's representative to the budget committee and planning board, as well as the representative to the agricultural commission. He will also serve as the selectmen's liaison to the zoning board of adjustment and the energy committee.
The board decided on May 23 to table a vote on the representative to the capital improvements plan committee until a future workshop or meeting, and also elected not to chose a selectmen to serve as liaison to the conservation commission.
The next North Hampton selectmen's meeting is on Thursday, June 9, at 7 p.m. in the Town Offices' Mary B. Herbert Conference Room.
