Maine Man Bagged With 21 lbs. Of Marijuana On I-95: NHSP

Jakob Lemieux of Sidney, ME, was arrested on a drug dealing charge after a motor vehicle violation on I-95 North in North Hampton.

NORTH HAMPTON, NH — New Hampshire State Police arrested a Maine man earlier this week on a drug dealing charge after allegedly being caught with about 21 lbs. of marijuana, according to a press statement. Jakob Lemieux, 27, of Sidney, ME, was arrested on Feb. 19, 2018, on a single charge of possession of a controlled drug-marijuana with intent to distribute. According to Lt. John Hennessey of Troop A, a trooper stopped a 1990 Chrysler LeBaron on I-95 North in North Hampton, reportedly for a moving violation.

“Upon stopping the vehicle, (the) trooper conducted a roadside investigation that ultimately lead to the discovery of approximately 21 pounds of marijuana located within the trunk of the vehicle,” he alleged.

The driver – Lemieux – was arrested and held on $7,500 cash bail. He was arraigned on Feb. 20, 2018, in Rockingham County Superior Court.
