In late January, the department began monitoring online prostitution activity in the region and during the process of doing that, a detective reportedly “engaged in electronic communication with another person regarding sexual activity in exchange for money over the following two months,” according to police.

In late March, an undercover detective reportedly arranged a meeting between the two parties involved. One was Nesbitt, according to police, who allegedly was “transporting another in order to facilitate that person to engage in sexual conduct,” according to Deputy Chief David Hobbs.

“When police approached the vehicle, it was determined that his 7-year-old child was a passenger in the vehicle,” he noted.

The department continued to investigate the situation and later, issued warrants to arrest Nesbitt on charges, specifically, Hobbs noted, for “promoting prostitution for transporting another person for the purposes of promoting and or facilitating said person to engage in sexual conduct” and “endangering the welfare of a child for purposely inducing a child to engage in conduct that endangers his health and safety for involving him in the facilitation of a prostitute.”

Nesbitt was arrested by Rochester Police and is due for arraignment in Seabrook District Court on May 17.
