Man Pleads Guilty to Luring Hampton Girl
The man was sentenced to five to 15 years in jail.

A man who sent unsolicited indecent pictures to and tried to have sex with a 12-year-old Hampton girl in February 2011 has pleaded guilty to 14 felony charges and will serve the next five to 15 years in prison, according to the Eagle-Tribune.
Andrew Desmarais, 24, of Seabrook, was sentenced recently in Rockingham Superior Court to a variety of charges, including one count of prohibited use of a computer for using the Internet to lure a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activities, according to the Eagle-Tribune.
Desmarais reportedly contacted the Hampton girl through Facebook and sent obscene pictures to the girl while requesting that she send back naked pictures of herself. The Eagle-Tribune also reported that Desmarais also tried to "entice" the girl into having sex with him.

A plea deal was reached after Desmarais cooperated with police after his arrest, as he, according to the Eagle-Tribune, admitted that he was a pedophile and asked for help.
"He waived his rights [to remain silent and to an attorney]," the Eagle-Tribune reported Rockingham County Prosecutor Patricia Conway as telling the judge. "He told police he'd been looking at child pornography since he was 12 years old... He told police where to find everything."

Desmarais was held on $50,000 bail after the hearing. Desmarais was originally indicted on 29 felony counts in May, although the Eagle-Tribune reported Conway dropped 15 of the charges in exchange for Desmarais' guilty plea to 14 charges.
