Mass. Man Allegedly Strangles, Punches Woman

Cops: Thomas Littlewood of Gardner allegedly throttled a woman and caused her to lose a tooth inside an Ocean Boulevard hotel last weekend.

HAMPTON, NH — A Bay State man was arrested last weekend and is due in court next week after allegedly strangling and beating a woman inside of a hotel room last weekend, according to police. Thomas Littlewood, 37, of Gardner, was arrested on March 24, 2018, on two felony charges of second-degree assault and criminal mischief. Police were sent to the Ashworth By The Sea Hotel on Ocean Boulevard at around 11 p.m. for a report of an altercation, according to Deputy Chief David Hobbs of the Hampton Police Department.

The suspect – Littlewood – was detained outside near A Street, Hobbs noted.

“Police checked on the room where the initial altercation had been reported and determined that Mr. Littlewood did cause serious bodily injury to the victim by hitting her in the face causing her to lose a tooth,” Hobbs stated in a press release. “It is also alleged that Mr. Littlewood knowingly engaged in an act of strangulation to the victim as well as caused damage to a cell phone of another.”

Littlewood was arrested, processed, and released on $500 cash bail. He’s due for arraignment in Rockingham County Superior Court on April 6. This case is still under investigation and is being handled by the Rockingham County Attorney’s Office, Hobbs added.
