Massachusetts Woman Not Injured As SUV Fire Closes Parts Of I-95
Traffic was slowed on the exit ramp of the northbound side of the Interstate in Hampton Wednesday.

HAMPTON, NH — A Bay State woman was not injured after her SUV caught on fire on the northbound side of I-95 in Hampton Wednesday. New Hampshire State Police were sent to an exit ramp on the highway at just before 4:30 p.m. and found a 2017 Hyundai Tucson on fire, due to unknown mechanical failure. The driver, a woman from Amesbury, Massachusetts, was alone in the vehicle.
"This malfunction caused the vehicle to begin smoking, and ultimately became fully engulfed in flames," said Lt. John Hennessy of Troop A. (The driver) was able to exit the vehicle to avoid any injury and there were no other occupants at the time of this event."
The exit ramp was closed for about 30 minutes while Hampton firefighters extinguished the fire and the roadway was cleared.
