NH Winter Storm Update: Storm Pushes Inland

Up to 8 inches expected in some parts of NH by the time the storm ends Tuesday; surges, flooding reported on the Seacoast.

The National Weather Service is reporting that the nor’easter that is bringing about a foot of snow to the south of us is moving inland, causing visibility issues this afternoon, and travel issues this afternoon.

In a Winter Weather Advisory alert, issued for Merrimack, Hillsborough, and Rockingham counties at around 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 8, 2016, steady but mostly light snow is expected to run through the day and then begin to taper off, with spotty flakes here and there.

Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 20 mph with temperatures dropping into the low teens.

Projected snow totals are expected to be up to three to six inches from Concord south; as much as eight inches along the Seacoast.

At high tide this morning, a number of weather watchers in Hampton reported flooding and surges.


The weather alert runs through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9. Some scattered – but small – snow showers, are expected to hit the Granite State during the early voting hours tomorrow.

NH DOT and NHSP have reported a number of accidents and reduced speeds on some Granite State highways.
