North Hampton Teen Arrested After Alleged Threat Incident

Hampton Police arrested Maxwell Chaykowsky on Monday after he allegedly pointed what was believed to be a gun into another person.

HAMPTON, NH — A local teen was arrested yesterday on a gun charge after an alleged incident during the weekend near 9th Street, according to a police statement. Maxwell Chaykowsky, 18, of North Hampton, was arrested on Dec. 19, 2016, on a felony criminal threatening charge.

According to Deputy Chief David Hobbs of the Hampton Police Department, police took a report of an alleged criminal threat incident, with a deadline weapon, on Dec. 18, in the area of Kings Highway and 9th Street. According to the allegation, Chaykowsky allegedly “placed another in fear of serious bodily injury or death by pointing, what was believed to be, a handgun into the victim’s side after a physical altercation.”

After investigating the incident, a warrant was issued for Chaykowsky’s arrest. He was taken into custody yesterday. Chaykowsky is due in Seabrook District Court on Feb. 14, 2017.

“This incident is still under investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming,” Hobbs alleged. “Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Hampton Police Department.”
