North Hampton Voters Have Competitive Races On Tuesday

Voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, March 9, and vote on town and school races, budgets, and more.

NORTH HAMPTON, NH — Voters will go to the polls in North Hampton on Tuesday and vote on the competitive town and school boards, budgets for the town, local school district, and Winnacunnet Cooperative School District ballots.

The polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the North Hampton School gymnasium at 201 Atlantic Avenue.

Town voters have five competitive races on the ballot — three for town offices and two for school offices.

On the town ballot, two candidates are running for a single, three-year board of select board seat: Bill Kibby and Jonathan Pinette.

Three candidates have filed to run for two, three-year budget committee seats: Sean Dionne, Andrew Raucci, and Rick Stanton.

Three candidates are also running for two, three-year water commissioner seats: Henry Fuller, Timothy Harned, and Kathleen Kilgore.

The town ballot also has 12 articles.

Articles 2, 3, and 4 address zoning issues including yard and lot requirements on setbacks, an aquifer district ordinance, and defining self-storage unit facilities.

Article 5, the town's operating budget, consists of a $7.7 million budget with a default budget of $7.8 million.

Article 6 concerns a new firefighter contract.

Articles 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 concern a lease on a DPW truck, a fingerprint scanner, money for road resurfacing and paving, and capital reserve, Coakley Landfill, and environmental remediation fund transfers.

On the local school ballot, four candidates have signed up to run for two, three-year school board seats. The candidates include Bryan Belanger, Margaret Clifford, Anna Spaulding, and Danielle Strater.

Voters will also consider a $9.3 million school operating budget or a default budget of $9.33 million.

Voters also have a competitive at-large school board race on the coop ballot between Leslie Lafond and James Sununu.

Voters will also consider a $28.8 million regional district budget with a default budget of $28.9 million.

A proposal to spend $325,000 is also being considered for a new HVAC system at the high school.
