Poker Night Scheduled to Benefit Local Students

A WHS nonprofit is sponsoring a "Learn to Play Night" at the Poker Room next week.

The Friends of Winnacunnet Foundation, a tax-exempt, non-profit set up to benefit education at , will hold a 5 day fundraiser June 5 through June 9 at the Hampton Falls Poker Room with a special night on Tuesday June 5 geared toward people who want to learn the games.

The Poker Room is located at 1 Lafayette Road in Hampton Falls. For those who have never been to the Poker Room, June 5 will be a “learn to play night” with free food from local restaurants and instruction on the games of chance.  

"Charitable gaming" is New Hampshire's legalized version of gambling. There is a $4 bet limit per game and 35 percent of each day’s proceeds go to a designated charity, in this case the Friends of Winnacunnet Foundation.

The proceeds of this event will be used to build an endowment from which annual grants are awarded to enrich the education of Winnacunnet High School Students.
