Prominent Republican Activists Endorse Innis

Leaders say candidate has the experience and expertise to take on the tough issues and help lead New Hampshire.

RYE, NH — Just days after announcing his first list of over 15 prominent in-district endorsements in his campaign for State Senate District 24, Dan Innis released another list of prominent Republican activists and business leaders which includes former Senate Majority Leader Bob Clegg, according to a press statement.

“Since announcing my candidacy for State Senate, I have been campaigning every day and talking about the issues important to District 24," Innis said. "I believe we need a tax policy that incentivizes entrepreneurship and job growth and doesn’t punish success. We need State government to focus on getting back to the basics and stop its encroachment into local control. We need to make sure that more of the revenues from the Seacoast hospitality industry stay in the Seacoast. I look forward to working hard to improve our state and to restoring the New Hampshire Advantage."

Clegg, in a statement, said that Innis "was the only candidate in this race with a the ability to recognize and resolve the issues affecting the hospitality industry and has the expertise to make New Hampshire a beacon for young entrepreneurs."

Renee & Dan Plummer, Portsmouth residents and co-owners of Two International Group, stated that they were supporting Innis because they wanted leaders who had the experience to tackle the tough - "the ongoing opioid epidemic, regulatory burdens that are pushing businesses out of our state, and rising health care costs" while also getting results.

Other endorsees included David Brownell of Stratham, Fergus Cullen of Dover, Jackie Eastwood of Durham, Nancy Kindler of Epping, Warren Kindler of Epping, Andy Leitz of Rye, John Lyons of Portsmouth, Mike McClurken of Durham, Kevin McDevitt of Portsmouth, Tod O’Dowd of Portsmouth, Vicki O’Dowd of Portsmouth, Griffin Poutre of Stratham, and Tom Varley of North Hampton.

The district includes Greenland, Hampton, Hampton Falls, Kensington, New Castle, North Hampton, Newton, Rye, Seabrook, Stratham, and South Hampton.
