Hampton Fire Goes to Three Alarms
Firefighters were sent to the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom building for a report of a fire in the roof of the Purple Urchin Café.

HAMPTON, NH — Numerous firefighters were called to the Casino Ballroom building on Ocean Boulevard fighting a multi-alarm fire at the Purple Urchin Café, according to reports online. The fire was first reported at just before 8 a.m. on Oct. 12, 2016, and quickly went to three alarms. Mutual aid from a number of towns assisted.

Ocean Boulevard was closed near D Street to all vehicles, according to police, for about five hours.

Firefighters cleared the scene of the fire at just after noon, according to a post on Twitter. Ocean Boulevard reopened at just before 1 p.m.
