Seacoast 9s on to Championship Round

The local all-star team beat Newtown, Conn. 10-4 on Wednesday.

The Seacoast Cal Ripken 9s returned to their winning ways on Wednesday, beating Newtown, Conn. by a score of 10-4 at the Cal Ripken New England Regional Tournament in Hebron, Conn.

The win came after a tough, the night before.

Seacoast, an all-star team of local 9-year-old boys, had control of the game the entire evening, with Jake Bullard pitching 5 2/3 innings for the win and Jake Elbeery coming in to close it out. The team's hitters, who were quiet in Tuesday's loss, came back to life, with a lot of kids getting on base and contributing offensively. James O'Hara also made a pair of great catches in center field.
