Seacoast Eatery, ‘A Classic Deli,’ Makes Top 50 U.S. Best Sandwich Shop List For 2026

NORTH HAMPTON, NH — Whether out on a road trip or traveling for business or family, finding a decent place to eat is often a top priority.

And, as the Only In Your State website said in its most recent listing of the best sandwich shops in America, there are few foods universally loved than a sandwich.

As part of its latest roundup of recommendations for 2026, the travel and discovery website, founded in 2015, collected reviews, awards, reader nominations, and popularity to create the latest listing. The compilers also looked at “innovation and creativity, rewarding spots that deliver something distinctive while honoring their culinary roots,” it said.

“We also factored in accessibility, inclusivity, affordability, hours, and overall value,” the post said.

This year’s pick is Joe’s Meat Shoppe in North Hampton, according to the list.

Reviewers said visitors “can’t go wrong” with Joe’s, calling it “a classic deli” inside a market. The menu features dozens of options, including soups, salads, and entrees.

“Patrons rave about the Special Italian and Turkey Gobbler as go-tos,” the review said. “New Englanders will also love that peanut butter and Fluff (fluffernutter) is on the menu, too.”
