Spirit Night Shines Bright Despite Hurricane Sandy

Downtown Hampton was lit and full of Halloween festivities this weekend even with strong winds approaching.

For a second year in a row, trick or treat was dampened by a weather event, although everyone who came to downtown Hampton on Saturday night had an opportunity to celebrate Halloween.

Spirit Night in Hampton was lots of fun for the kids and adults. It all started at Tuck Field with games, crafts and face painting.

The event was sponsored by the Hampton Parks and Recreation and Experience Hampton.

There was a band from Concord playing great dancing music at the Gazebo in Marelli Square with the Old Salt, the Galley Hatch, the 401 Tavern and Savory Square Bistro passing out, chowder, chili and seasonal treats.

At Marelli's volunteers helped the kids make Halloween lanterns.

A full moon and a warm night made the Spirit Night shine.
