Stiles: Waddell Has Great Listening Skills, Sees The Big Picture

Former state Senator endorses Hampton selectman's re-election campaign on March 13.

From The Town of Hampton: Jim Waddell has served this Hampton community in many capacities over the last several years. Jim and I served Hampton together with other good legislators in the NH House and I worked with him again as Selectman and me as State Senator. Jim is committed to the tasks he takes on and has the great skills of listening, action, and seeing the bigger picture.

As a NH Legislator, Hampton’s interests were Jim’s interest. He commuted many miles and worked long hours on behalf of our town. He did a great job. He was there working on behalf of Hampton's interest on the retirement issues, school funding, holding down the budget and visioning for both the town and the state.

Jim’s ability to listen to all sides of an issue is important. He takes his time to arrive at a decision and provides steady leadership as he has done serving as Select Board Chair this year. He allows for spirited debate and then works hard to gain consensus. He is a calm and effective leader. With all that we have going on today, Hampton needs him. Jim has the time, energy, and passion to continue serving Hampton. I appreciate the time that he takes to prepare for the many issues that a Selectman has to deal with. He represents our town with professionalism and pride. We need Jim’s experience working on our behalf.
