'Sunset Surfing' Wins our Facebook Cover Photo Contest!

I don't envy any of you, as picking a favorite photo from this gallery definitely wasn't an easy task.

Several of you said so yourself in the comments while voting, although in the end it was Christine Singleton's marvelous "Sunset Surfing, North Beach" photograph (pictured above) that won the Hampton-North Hampton Patch Facebook cover photo contest.

Singleton wins a preloaded $50 shopping card to spend on whatever she chooses. I want to also congratulate all of the other photographers that entered an image in the contest, as there were some amazing shots shared here on Patch.

• Chris McCarthy: Oh my goodness! I thought when I saw Christine's pic that I was done choosing - what could define our area better than a surfer? But then I saw the wounded warriors and I was torn. After all, that pic also defines who we are - supporters of great causes. Then the rescue boat caught my eye.
