Two from North Carolina Arrested on I-95

NHSP: Antwan Omar Smith and Alfego Sirmonte Daniels, both of Greenville, NC, were busted on gun and drug charges.

HAMPTON, NH — Two men from North Carolina will be on numerous charges after a traffic stop and arrest for gun and drug charges on I-95, according to New Hampshire State Police. Antwan Omar Smith, 34, and Alfego Sirmonte Daniels, 43, both of Greenville, NC, were arrested on Sept. 9, 2016, after state troopers in Hampton stopped a commercial box truck.

While interviewing Smith and Daniels, a trooper allegedly smelled marijuana in the vehicle and requested a consent search. After the search, he allegedly found marijuana, cash, guns, and ammunition, according to a press statement.

Smith and Daniels were taken into custody without incident and (a trooper) obtained a search warrant for the truck,” according to state police. “Troopers ultimately seized marijuana, a loaded 9 mm handgun, a 45 caliber handgun, 55 rounds of ammunition, and more than $1,500 in cash. It was discovered during the search that the serial number had been removed from the 45 caliber handgun.”

Smith was charged with possession of a controlled drug, and carrying without a license. Daniels was charged with possession of a controlled drug, and possession of property without a serial number. Both were held on $5,000 cash bail at the Rockingham County House of Corrections pending arraignments today.
