Brownies Motel on Ashworth Avenue will be put up for bid at a bank auction later this month.

HAMPTON, NH - In two weeks, a local motel about two blocks from Hampton Beach will be put up for bid at auction with a starting bid of $700,000.

Brownie’s Motel, a fixture on Ashworth Avenue for more than six decades, will be sold at auction on May 13, 2016, according to Sullivan & Sullivan Auctioneers, LLC. The auction will start at 11 a.m.

A successful public sale is anticipated for this 18-room motel on the auction block, according to Marianne Sullivan, president of Sullivan & Sullivan Auctioneers, LLC.

“This auction is a unique opportunity for investors,” Sullivan said in a press statement. “This is an ideal income property with potential to increase revenues with enhanced marketing efforts and exposure.”

The motel has a year-round operation and history. It features an owner/manager residence and onsite parking. Rooms are a mix of doubles, queens, and kitchenettes, plus a penthouse suite that sleeps up to seven.

The convenient location allows walking to all amenities including the famous Hampton Beach and Boardwalk, according to Sullivan.

The property, located at 180 Ashworth Ave., where the auction will take place next Friday, is being sold as-is. All bids are subject to confirmation by the bank. Buyers will have 45 days to close.
