Financial trauma refers to the emotional, psychological, and physiological distress that arises from real or perceived threats to one's financial security, and taxes can absolutely be a major trigger for this kind of trauma and anxiety.<br /><br />It often shares characteristics with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and can stem from past overwhelming financial events like unexpected large tax bills, audits, significant financial loss due to errors, or growing up in poverty or financially unstable environments where taxes were a source of family stress.<br />💔 Common Signs of Financial Trauma Related to Taxes<br />The trauma often manifests in specific behaviors and feelings when dealing with tax season or financial issues:<br /> * Avoidance/Procrastination: Ignoring or putting off opening mail from tax authorities (like the IRS), avoiding looking at bank accounts or bills, or delaying the filing of tax returns entirely.<br /> * Hypervigilance: Constant, excessive worry about expenses or future worst-case financial scenarios related to taxes, such as audits or crippling debt.<br /> * Physical Symptoms: Insomnia, headaches, stomach issues, nervous energy, or a racing heart when thinking about or engaging with tax-related tasks.<br /> * Shame and Isolation: Feeling deep embarrassment about your tax or financial situation, leading to reluctance to discuss it with family, friends, or professionals.<br /> * Compulsive Behaviors: Engaging in extreme overspending or underspending (hoarding money/extreme frugality) as a way to cope with underlying anxiety.<br /> * Emotional Reactivity: Having disproportionate anxiety, panic, or anger in response to economic news or a simple bill/reminder.<br /><br />www.healyourfinancialheart.org <br />

Dough Craft Pizza and Restaurant is located in the Portsmouth Green Shopping Plaza on Rt. 1 Portsmouth.  with plenty of free parking. You can enjoy comfortable seating with table side service or sit at the bar where you can enjoy the best Espresso Martini made from scratch with our fresh brewed espresso coffee, a glass of wine or a draft beer like the Maine Lunch.<br /><br />We make fresh pizza dough 3 times a week. Every pizza is hand crafted using our homemade sauces. You can order one of our specialty pizzas or make your own from our list of ingredients - which includes over 44 sauces, cheeses and toppings. Our most popular specialty pizzas are the Margherita (red sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil), Nice Spice, (spicy garlic Buffalo chicken with mozzarella cheese and a ranch drizzle), Bad Larry “The Works”(our red pizza sauce with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, mushrooms and caramelized onions) Mr. Fun Guy (mushroom and truffle oil cream base with mozzarella cheese, caramelized onion and of course fresh mushrooms) and the Maserati (white cream base with bacon, caramelized onion, goat cheese and fresh mushrooms).<br /><br />We serve the best fresh steamed “black pastrami” (New York style) sandwiches around Portsmouth using pastrami that is made from the piece of beef known as the “plate cut”. It is seasoned with our proprietary spice blend before being steamed for over 1 hour each morning and then hand-carved for your sandwich. No “deli pastrami” here, just real beef with real pastrami spices and flavor.<br /><br />Some of our most popular made to order foods include fresh salads (Caesar, Beet, Cobb, etc.), a full menu of sandwiches including chicken, meatball and pesto paninis, and wraps.  Appetizers include fresh made-from-scratch chicken tenders, wings, fried mozzarella sticks and very popular Cheesy Garlic Strips made with our pizza dough and covered with garlic, fresh mozzarella and Fontina Cheese served with our own Marinara or Alfredo sauce.<br /><br />

I sped it up just for fun (and I added music because the sound of the wind was really annoying).</p>  <p>The wind was really howling and the ocean was filled with whitecaps even though it was low tide. It looks like it might be cold out, but it wasn't. Just windy!</p>    <p>I took this video with a GoPro Hero Session camera.
