Winnacunnet Title Game Postponed

The Winnacunnet field hockey team was scheduled to defend its state title tonight, although the game has been postponed.

The Winnacunnet High School field hockey team didn't let losses to Exeter and Pinkerton earlier in the season stop them from topping those same teams in the playoffs, so players aren't going to let a little snowstorm kill their postseason momentum.

Winnacunnet's state championship game against Manchester Memorial High School was originally scheduled for Sunday in Bedford and rescheduled for today at 8 p.m., although snow, power outages and school cancellations have indefinitely postponed the matchup.

No definitive date has yet been set for the game.

Regardless, players are enthusiastically calling for support in their push to defend last season's championship victory, which they have a chance to do after defeating Exeter and by identical 1-0 scores in this year's playoffs.
