Woman Found in Sagamore Creek Still Unidentified

A woman whose body was found in Sagamore Creek in Portsmouth Tuesday has not yet been identified.

The decomposing body was found near the Sagamore Bridge, which is under construction.

Lt. Mark Newport said an investigation is ongoing. He said the woman is not Lizzi Marriott, the University of New Hampshire student who prosecutors said was murdered last year and dumped in the Piscataqua River. The creek is just south of the river.

Police on Tuesday searched an area of the creek behind the Golden Egg restaurant.
