Xtreme Fitness Adds New Program for Boomers

Hampton Gym Caters to Wide Variety of Clients

Xtreme Fitness announces the addition of a new program specifically designed for Baby Boomers. The 12-week Boomer Body Challenge is a holistic wellness program aimed at men and women 50+ who are ready to regain their health and fitness in preparation for an active retirement. Beginning in January, just in time for New Year’s resolution season, participants will set health and fitness goals and work towards achieving them by the end of the Challenge. Owner Rob Gagnon has partnered with a well-qualified team to lead this specialty program. Certified fitness trainer/senior specialist, Vivian Lefebvre, will lead the exercise program, and certified health coach, Chris Jankins, will offer nutrition/lifestyle guidance for each participant.

“My goal is to provide appropriate fitness programs to all members, regardless of their current physical condition”, says Gagnon. “I want everyone who visits Xtreme Fitness to feel confident that there is something they can do now a swell as something for them to aspire to.”

The large number of Boomers in the Seacoast made the need for this program apparent as there is currently nothing in the area that caters to this important population. Knowing that most Boomers do not yet consider themselves “seniors”, Gagnon feels that there is an opportunity to create a unique fitness niche that is more challenging than traditional senior fitness but less demanding than other cross training programs. Many people in their 50’s have been away from exercise for some time due to the demands of jobs and family. They suddenly realize that they need to get in shape but don’t have any idea where or how to start. Tapping into the competitive spirit of the Baby Boomer generation, the 12-week challenge will award prizes to top performers.

“We expect that some participants in the Boomer Body Challenge will eventually want to become full time members of Xtreme Fitness once they are ready. Everyone has different goals, and we are here to support and guide people towards achieving them”, says Gagnon.

Since purchasing the business in June of this year, Gagnon has established Xtreme Fitness as a destination for individuals training for the growing sport of obstacle course racing. In addition, they offer group fitness classes, personal fitness training and frequent special workshops focusing on strength and conditioning, chi running, kettlebell skills, and goal setting strategies.
