One Young Resident is Rallying the Community (mykeenenow.com) — A Keene eighth-grader's campaign to bring Trader Joe's to town has already drawn more than 800 supporters and a response from the chain's real estate team. He's pinpointed possible sites in Keene and nearby Swanzey and is urging residents to join a Facebook group and submit store requests, hoping to prove the Monadnock Region can support a new location.
   

• Keene Family YMCA names new CEO (keenesentinel.com) — Leadership at the Keene Family YMCA is changing, with Mick Blume officially named president and CEO after serving four months as interim leader. Blume, already active with Keene Housing Kids Collaborative and several Monadnock-region coalitions, says he's excited to strengthen the Y's role in youth development, health, and community impact.
   

• This day in history, Sept. 1 (keenesentinel.com) — A look back at Sept. 1, 1976 notes that Keene was slated to receive 10 state teams for a major swine flu immunization drive in Cheshire County.
