Today's riddle: What has a tail, but no body? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Central Square Work Shifts East as Water, Sewer Installation Continues (mykeenenow.com) — If you drive through Keene's Central Square, expect shifting detours, lane closures, and lost parking on the north and east sides this week as water and sewer work advances. Crews will close parts of Central Square and West Street on a rolling basis, with alternate routes via Union and Court streets and nearby public lots remaining available for parking.
2. Keene residents invited to review Robin Hood Park Phase II plans (magic967.com) — Keene residents have a chance tonight to directly influence the next phase of improvements at Robin Hood Park, with a public meeting from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Keene Parks & Recreation Center. City staff and consultants will review ideas like inclusive playgrounds, a multi-sport court, added parking, and an accessible fishing dock, and are asking park users to weigh in.
3. Sentinel Player of the Week, Nominees: Sept. 5-11 (keenesentinel.com) — Keene-area sports fans can vote online this week for the Sentinel's Player of the Week, a reader-driven poll sponsored by Lindy's Diner in Keene. Nominees include standout Keene High athletes and other regional players, with voting open Tuesday through Thursday and the winner receiving a Lindy's gift certificate and recognition in the Weekend Sentinel.
4. Man Hurt in Saturday Swanzey Tractor-Trailer Crash (magic967.com) — A 51-year-old man was seriously injured Saturday when he ran into the path of a tractor-trailer on Route 12 just north of the Cheshire Fairgrounds in Swanzey. He was first taken to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, then transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon, and police say his injuries, mainly internal, are not believed to be life-threatening.
