2 Team Woo Competitors Earn Medals at the Fuji MA Championship
Ben Simon earned silver medals in Gi & NoGi and Ed Tapia earned two bronze medals in Gi & NoGi at the Fuji MA Championship held Feb 4th.
Ben Simon and Ed Tapia, from Woo Kickboxing Academy, in Londonderry, competed at the Fuji MA Championship held at the St. John's Preparatory School - 72 Spring St, Danvers MA 01923 this February 4th. Mr. Simon earned silver in Gi and silver in the NoGi, Blue Belt, Masters, 140 to 149 Pound division. Mr. Tapia earned a bronze in the Gi and another bronze in the NoGi, Blue Belt, Masters, 180 to 194 Pounddivision.
Mr. Tapia received an accidental cut under eyebrow a day before the tournament. He was able to close the cut at home with liquid bandage adhesive and wrapped it up as best he could. The cut opened up in his last gi match. The medic wrapped it up and Mr. Tapia was able to finish. He also had the cut rewrapped before competing in his NoGi division and the bandage held for the rest of the tournament. So grateful to Amadeus, I would've been disqualified without him bandaging me up.
"It’s always awesome to be supported by such great friends and family. Before and after fighting, it’s about learning and getting better not winning or losing." - Ben Simon
