$37.6M Town Operating Budget Approved In Londonderry

Town voters, however, rejected a $78.9 million school budget in an effort to save property taxpayers around $400,000.

LONDONDERRY, NH — Voters in Londonderry approved of a town operating budget Tuesday but rejected a slightly higher school operating budget — which will save property taxpayers around $400,000 during the next budget cycle. Voters approved a $37.62 million town operating budget, about $36,000 less than the default budget of $37.65 million, by about 850 votes. Voters also approved a number of articles including reserve fund transfers and road maintenance but rejected $425,000 for new trucks for the department of public works.

Town voters approved a number of new collective bargaining agreements, too.

There were two competitive in town Tuesday. Four candidates ran for town council with Deb Paul and Joseph Green winning the two seats. Ted Combes placed third and Ronald Dunn came in fourth.

Four candidates also ran for three budget committee seats. Jennifer Kenney, Steve Breault, and Jonathan Kipp all won with Alexander Yip placing fourth.

Voters rejected a $78.9 million school budget which means the school district's default budget of $78.5 million will be the budget for next year.

Three candidates vied for two school board seats. Bob Slater and Amy Finamore won the seats while Greg DePasse placed third.
