• Londonderry approves ambulance services for Litchfield in lengthy meeting (unionleader.com) — Londonderry's Town Council has approved a contract to provide ambulance and dispatch services to Litchfield, a move Fire Chief Jim Young says will expand staffing and still net the town about $192,000 in the first year. Litchfield will fund five additional Londonderry Fire Department positions, while residents here can expect more ambulances available and a heavier call volume managed with new hires.
• Wednesday is veto day at the State House (unionleader.com) — Londonderry's own House Speaker Sherman Packard pushed lawmakers to return early for a rare August veto day, where they'll consider overriding 28 of Gov. Kelly Ayotte's vetoes. The agenda includes hot-button issues like turnpike tolls, transgender-related legislation, school library challenges, and farm and animal-cruelty rules that could reshape policies across New Hampshire.
• Maine PoutineFest returns to Thompson's Point in September (pressherald.com) — Londonderry gets a nod as one of the host communities for the growing PoutineFest series, which also includes stops in Maine, Burlington, and Boston. The Maine edition returns Sept. 19 to Thompson's Point, featuring creative poutine competitions, food trucks, local beer, and family activities that support French language and cultural programs.
