1. Londonderry water extension, partly funded by Saint-Gobain, ... (unionleader.com) — About 350 Londonderry homes along and near High Range Road now have access to a new Pennichuck Water Works main, offering a safer alternative to groundwater contaminated by Saint-Gobain. The nearly two-mile extension from Royal Lane to Alexander Road was partly funded by the company, which contributed over $1.7 million. Contractors will soon bid on connecting additional nearby homes to the system.
2. Londonderry Still Left in the Dark on Details of Town Manager's Termination (indepthnh.org) — Londonderry residents are still being kept in the dark about why Town Manager Shaun Mulholland was abruptly fired after investigations, as councilors clash over legal opinions and due process in recent meetings. Two councilors and several residents are demanding transparency and a second legal review, but the majority bloc has blocked those efforts and rejected a motion to reinstate Mulholland under the town charter's procedures.
3. WATCH: NH firefighter recovering after catching fire in his Londonderry home – Boston News, Weather, Sports (newenglandnewspress.com) — A Londonderry firefighter is recovering from minor burns and a leg injury after being briefly engulfed in flames while searching a burning home on Rockingham Road late Friday night. Crews safely evacuated residents and pets, quickly knocked down the fire, and officials say the lieutenant's training and quick escape prevented more serious injuries. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
4. Firefighter catches on fire while responding to burning home (azfamily.com) — A Londonderry firefighter is recovering at home after being briefly engulfed in flames and fracturing his leg while searching a burning house for a possible victim. Officials say new protective gear recently issued to the entire Londonderry Fire Department likely saved Lt. Mike England's life, limiting his injuries to a broken leg and minor burns after a sudden flashover.
