LONDONDERRY, NH — A real estate company said it collected more than 14,000 pounds of food and donated $20,000 during its 10th Annual Food Drive.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty said the effort supported organizations and families across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont.
According to the company, agents, employees, clients and community members collected nonperishable food throughout September at Verani Realty offices and in neighborhoods across the region. The company said many agents delivered collection bags to local homes and later returned to pick up donations.
The food collected during the drive was distributed to the New Hampshire Food Bank, Merrimack Valley Food Bank, Alton Food Pantry, SHARE Food Pantry, Upper Valley Haven, Saint Anne Parish Food Pantry, Liberty House and St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, according to the company. Verani Realty also donated a total of $20,000 to the New Hampshire Food Bank, Merrimack Valley Food Bank and Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine.
"For 10 years, this food drive has been about our agents, employees and neighbors coming together to help people right here in our communities," Margherita Verani, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty, said. "Seeing more than 14,000 pounds of food donated this year is incredible, and we're grateful to everyone who helped make it possible."
The annual drive is part of VeraniCARES, the company's community outreach initiative. The company said for the past decade, agents and employees have worked with clients, local residents, and community partners to help stock food banks and pantries throughout the areas Verani serves.
"Real estate gives us the opportunity to be part of communities throughout the region, and we believe being part of a community means showing up for it," Giovanni Verani, the president of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty, said. "Thank you to everyone who donated food, helped collect donations or supported this year's drive."
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty said it has served New England communities since 1967.
The family-owned company provides residential and commercial real estate services throughout New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont, and said its VeraniCARES program supports nonprofit organizations, charitable initiatives and community programs throughout the region.
