Traffic Shift Today Due to I-93 Construction

TRAFFIC SHIFT ALONG NH 28 IN LONDONDERRY AT I-93 EXIT 5

NH 28 TRAFFIC DELAYS WITH LANE CLOSURES 

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a planned traffic shift along NH Route 28 in Londonderry associated with the construction of four new Interstate 93 Exit 5 bridges.

Weather permitting; all NH 28 lanes of traffic will be shifted to the newly constructed roadway on the westerly side of NH 28, south of the I-93 Exit 5 Interchange. This work will take place on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 during daytime hours, from approximately 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. It includes work includes removal of existing striping and new striping for the newly aligned roadway. Traffic delays can be expected.  Route 28 northbound and southbound will be intermittently stopped utilizing flaggers and uniformed officers. 

Ongoing work will require traffic on Auburn Road to be detoured for approximately two weeks to accommodate the reconstruction of that intersection. Auburn Road traffic will be detoured to the NH 28 and Liberty Drive intersection via Independence Drive.  The traffic switch will accommodate the reconstruction of the easterly portion of the roadway.

This work is part of the construction of four new I-93 Exit 5 bridges, NH Route 28 reconstruction, and I-93 reconstruction in the Exit 5 area. Severino Trucking. Co., Inc. of Candia, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $37 million project, which is scheduled for completion in June 2014.
