Baldasaro Tops Ticket in GOP Primary

Six incumbents fill seven nomination slots heading into the general election.

The primary for Rockingham District 5 featured 10 candidates vying for seven slots but most of the challengers came up short after unofficial results were released late last night.

Incumbent Al Baldasaro topped the ticket with a solid 16 percent of the vote or 1,685 votes, more than any other candidate. Other incumbents – including David Lundgren, Bob Introne, Sherman Packard, Daniel Tamburello, and Betsy McKinney, won five more slots with between 1,350 and 1,050 votes. Doug Thomas came in seventh with 868 votes or 8 percent.

Deirdre Carson received 860 votes while Roger Fillio and Dana Coons trailed far behind the winngers.
