AFP Calls for New Hampshire US House Members to Repeal ObamaCare in Vote Thursday

MANCHESTER – Americans for Prosperity – New Hampshire (AFP-NH) called for New Hampshire’s U.S. House members to support H.R. 45, a bill that would repeal ObamaCare, which the House will vote on tomorrow. AFP-NH noted that Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01) voted to pass ObamaCare in 2010, while Rep. Ann McLane Kuster (NH-02) has not voted on the issue.
“The author of ObamaCare has called it a ‘train wreck’ and chose to leave the Senate instead of facing the voters of his state over this disastrously flawed law,” said Greg Moore AFP-NH State Director. “Now that we have seen the massive tax hikes, the skyrocketing premiums and huge intrusion into our lives and our healthcare that ObamaCare will mean, it’s time for our representatives to support our citizens, not an out-of-touch national agenda. We hope that Reps. Shea-Porter and Kuster put New Hampshire first and repeal this broken law that will break our economy.”
AFP-NH particularly noted the destructive tax increases in ObamaCare that will hurt the economy as it is trying to come out of a recession as reason for supporting the repeal effort.

“Whether it’s the medical device tax that will hurt many employers here in New Hampshire, the new payroll tax for Medicare, the tax increase on investment income that will take capital out of the economy or the new mandate tax on employees and companies, these tax increases will send our ability to create jobs in exactly the wrong direction,” added Moore. “It’s time for Rep. Shea-Porter to admit she made a mistake and for Rep. Kuster to make clear that her focus is jobs and growing the economy and not keeping a law that will swamp our economy on the books. Both can prove their putting New Hampshire first by voting to support the repeal tomorrow.”
