Last month, the Democrat-controlled New Hampshire House narrowly passed HB 135, the repeal bill that would strip away the rights of citizens to stand their ground and protect themselves, others and their properties when faced with a deadly threat.

Granite Staters are asking Governor Maggie Hassan to stand up for New Hampshire families and their right to protect themselves. However, when asked at an event in Concord yesterday, the Governor refused repeated attempts for her position on the repeal of the commonly called “Stand Your Ground” bill and eventually slammed her door rather than responding.

Derek Dufresne, spokesman for Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire, Inc, made the following statement:

The vote to repeal New Hampshire’s ‘Stand Your Ground’ law was an assault on the rights of Granite Staters to protect themselves and their property. Will Governor Hassan stand up for the rights of New Hampshire citizens or continue to slam the door in their face?”

“New Hampshire residents deserve to know whether Governor Hassan stands with the rights of Granite State families to protect themselves or with the violent criminals who hope to inflict harm on good standing citizens. We urge New Hampshire residents to call Governor Hassan at 603-271-2121 and tell her to support your right to protect yourself and your family.”
