BTT Jiu Jitsu Fighters Win at the Boston Open Sub-Only Tournament

Brazilian Top Team, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Competitors, Win at the Good Fight's Boston Open Sub-Only Tournament at Danvers Indoor Sports, 6/22.

The Good Fight is a submission only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament series. There are no points, no advantages and no referee decisions. June 22nd the Good Fight held the Boston Open in Danvers Indoor Sports at 150R Andover Street, Danvers, MA 01923.

Brazilian Top Team had 4 Competitors from Woo Kickboxing of Londonderry and 1 from BTT Boston. Together Brazilian Top Team took home the 2nd place team trophy.

"Everyone did great! Thank you to our BTT Boston Brother Ike for competing and contributing 38 points! Alyssa Marini was savage like always, competing in 4 divisions! Ben Simon, popping a rib in the gi and still got to NoGi just to get us our points! Amber Famisan was just promoted to Blue Belt Thursday 20th and she’s already earning medals with her new belt! Christopher Merheb continues to impress and had some of the most intense matches. It was a heroic day! So grateful for all our BTT instructors and teammates!!!”-Ed Tapia

  • 1st place NoGi White Belt (16+ yrs) Heavy (206+ lbs)
  • 2nd place NoGi Blue Belt (16+ yrs) Light (155 lbs)
  • 1st place Gi White Belt (16+ yrs) Heavy (206+ lbs)
  • 2nd place Gi Blue Belt (16+ yrs) Middle (185 lbs)

Ike Iffih earned 38 points. Mr. Iffih trains at BTT Boston.

  • 1st place NoGi Blue Belt (40+ yrs) Heavy (206+ lbs)
  • 1st place Gi Blue Belt (40+ yrs) Heavy (206+ lbs)

Amber Famisan was recently promoted to Blue Belt and is already earning medals at this higher level.

  • 2nd place NoGi Blue Belt (16+ yrs) Bantam (135 lbs)
  • 3rd place in the Gi Blue Belt (16+ yrs) Bantam (135 lbs)

Ben Simon injured his ribs half way through the tournament but finished both divisions and earned Silver medals in each.

  • 2nd place NoGi Blue Belt (30-39 yrs) Welter (170 lbs)
  • 2nd place Gi Blue Belt (30-39 yrs) Welter (170 lbs)

Ed Tapia earned Gold Medals in his Gi and NoGi divisions.

  • 1st place Blue Belt (30-39 yrs) Light Heavy (205 lbs)
  • 1st place Gi Blue Belt (30-39 yrs) Light Heavy (205 lbs)

Christopher Merheb earned Silver Medals is his Gi and NoGi divisions.

  • 2nd place NoGi Teens Intermediate (13-15 yrs) 134-146
  • 2nd place Gi Teens Intermediate (13-15 yrs) 122-146
