
A school bus veered off I-93 north and crashed down an embankment near the Londonderry-Manchester line this morning, according to the New Hampshire State Police.
The bus did not have any children on it, according to police, and the driver was not injured.
According to Staff Sgt. N. A. Noyes, the bus was traveling north at around 10:15 a.m. on Feb. 8, 2015, when the driver attempted to slow down due to traffic. The driver lost control of the bus and it traveled across the high-speed lane into and later, over, a guardrail, and down into an embankment. The bus then slid down about 70 feet before stopping, according to state police.

“At the time of the crash, it had been snowing for several hours and the roadway was snow and slush covered. Portions of the high speed, middle and high-speed breakdown lanes were closed for approximately four hours while the school bus was removed,” Noyes stated. “At one point, all travel lanes was closed for a few minutes to complete the removal.”
NH DOT employees as well as other troopers and Manchester Fire and Rescue teams assisted at the scene.
