According to police, an officer on patrol near the Red Arrow Restaurant on Lowell Street in Manchester was flagged down by the victim at around 1 a.m. on Nov. 11, 2015, alleging that an unknown man grabbed stole his iPhone and headphones.

The victim alleged that an African-American man approached him on the street and asked for money. When the victim declined to give him money, the man grabbed the teen’s headphones and started listening to the music with him.

“Although he was extremely uncomfortable, he decided not to say anything because he thought the man would continue on his way,” according to Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department. “Unfortunately, after several minutes the man removed his headphones, which were attached to his iPhone, and fled on foot.”

The victim flagged down an officer, told him what happened, gave a description of the man, and the direction the man was heading in. The officer then searched the immediate area looking for the man. The officer later found the man on Lake Avenue near Chestnut Street.

“The man was wearing grey headphones and matched the clothing description provided by the victim,” according to O’Keefe.

The officer stopped the subject and attempted to investigate the incident but the man, later identified as Trawalley, allegedly declined to answer the officer’s questions before fleeing on foot. The officer caught up to Trawalley and grabbed his jacket causing both men to fall to the ground. The officer cut his hand and injured his knee during the altercation, according to a report, while a second officer reportedly helped to subdue Trawalley, who cut his hand when he hit the ground.

The alleged stolen items were returned to the victim and Trawalley was arrested and held without bail. He was arraigned earlier today.

Trawalley, according to police, was arrested for possession of crack cocaine last month as part of a “Granite Hammer” roundup drug roundup in the Queen City.
