Cyanobacteria Advisory Removed for Derry Beach

A warning had been issued on May 31 for Gallien's Beach on Beaver Lake.

UPDATE, June 5: The cyanobacteria advisory for Gallien's Beach on Beaver Lake in Derry has been removed, accordign to the Department of Environmental Services.

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services has issued a beach cyanobacteria advisory for Gallien's Beach on Beaver Lake in Derry.

The advisory was issued Friday afternoon following a recent round of testing.

The town of Derry had not yet opened the beach for the season, but DES issued the advisory to alert people and pet owners to the possibility of harmful toxins in the water near the beach. Residents are urged to avoid contact with any areas of water that are cloudy and greenish.
