Democratic Presidential Candidate Forum Scheduled for Sept. 9

A forum of Democratic Presidential candidates and surrogates will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Sandown Town Hall, 320 Main St. in Sandown.

The Rockingham County Democratic Committee is sponsoring the event.

Participating in the forum will be:

• Lincoln Chafee, former Governor and U.S. Senator from Rhode Island
• Surrogate for Hillary Clinton: Bill Shaheen, New Hampshire member of the Democratic National Committee
• Surrogate for Martin O’Malley: John Bivona, New Hampshire Director of the Martin O’Malley campaign
• Surrogate for Bernie Sanders: Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream
• Surrogate for Jim Webb: Walter Anderson, former Chairman and CEO of Parade Publications

Larry Drake, chairman of the Rockingham County Democratic Committee, will serve as moderator of the forum.

“This is a great opportunity to hear from the Democratic Presidential candidates or their surrogates,” he commented. “It promises to be an informative and fun evening.”

The event is free and open to the public.
