LONDONDERRY, NH — A Derry man was arrested Friday on child pornography charges. Richard Gale was charged with three counts of possessing child pornography and one count of distributing child pornography. Police say that he lived in Londonderry during the time of the child pornography incidents and the months-long police investigation. Londonderry police had worked on this case along with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, with assistance from Homeland Security.

Londonderry police say they began investigating Gale's case in May last year, when they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The investigation that followed has led police to Gale. The May 2018 tip had come from Cybertip, which is the the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's centralized hotline for reports of online exploitation of children.

All of Gale's charges are felonies. After his arrest, Gale was released on an unsecured appearance bond and is scheduled to appear at Rockingham County Superior Court on the charge on May 3. Those with further information on this case is asked to contact Londonderry Police Detective Michael Tufo, at 603-432-1118 ext. 4303 or email at mtufo@londonderrynhpd.org.
