Derry to Spray for Mosquitoes

The town of Derry will conduct mosquito spraying on Friday after West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis were found in mosquitoes nearby.
The spraying will be done from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Barka School, Derry Village School, East Derry School, Grinnell School, Hood School, South Range School, West Running Brook School, Alexander-Carr Park, Don Ball Park, MacGregor Park, Rider Fields, Veterans Field, Pinkerton Academy and the Pinkerton practice field.
People may not be present during spraying. The school recreational fields and parks listed above are closed on Friday from 5 p.m. until Saturday at 5 a.m.
The insecticides, Zenivex E20 (entofenprox), and CrossCheck (bifenthrin) will be used to control adult mosquitoes. Dragon Mosquito Control, Inc. of Brentwood will be the applicator. No townwide road spraying is scheduled.
