For more than 20 years Kids Coop has been entertaining audiences in Derry at the Opera House. On March Friday, March 13th and Saturday, March 14th they will be presenting “Frozen, Jr”. For the past few months they have been rehearsing at their new home on Derry Road, perfecting the songs and dances that are so familiar to movie goers, while creating a family atmosphere for actors and directors alike. This production is part of the annual young director’s showcase, and the preview showed the very high quality of the production.

directors, Erin Downey (stage direction), Maya Lincoln (music direction) and Christine Katter (choreography) have produced a show that brings out the talents of each of the players. On press night the three of them introduced each number to be previewed with flair and pride. Their excitement in presenting the actors was matched with the enthusiasm and professionalism of the cast as they sang and danced.

The title roles of Anna and Elsie are shared to show the aging of the character. Playing the young two are Aislinn Sprague and Kiley Layne; the middle two are Avenley Allen and Rowan Gifford; and the older two are Zoe Sternberg and Kim Bailey. Their parents, the King and Queen are played by Brody Martin and Reya Rivera. Playing opposite the older Anna and Elsa are Logan Young as Kristoff, Deontae Lipine as Sven, Colby Lynch as Hans and Isabella Charlebois as Olaf. As members of the Oaken Family, Sofia Bubert, Kayden Conklin, Morgan Conte, Kelly Egan, Hope Frost, Gianna Ghanem, Ella and Ryan Hewes, Kayla Hoyt, Megan Lautieri, Anna Lawrence, Angelina Martinez, Kalisan Marzofl, and Ciatlin Trogler bring an energy to the show that is enjoyable to watch. Playing the Bishop is Katie Schulsinger. Kayleigh Lorenzini, Maddison Stevens, Gabriella Urnetta and Molly Watson are Ice Dancers. Rounding out the cast as townspeople and castle staff are Leah Butterworth, Rebecca Eyre, Quinn Giarusso, Skylar Marzolf, Gabrijela Strobel-Kosic, Hope and Lily Tessier, Braeden Tremain and Zachary Webster-Adams.

Disney’s Frozen Jr. will be performed March 13th at 7pm and March 14th at 1pm and 7pm at the Derry Opera House. All tickets are $15 and are available at www.kids-coop-theatre.org.
