Father of Boy Walking Alone, Barefoot in Londonderry Arrested

Joseph Killgren was arrested after an exhaustive search today trying to find out the identity of a boy roaming around Fieldstone Drive.

LONDONDERRY, NH — A local man was arrested and held on cash bail after his son was reportedly found walking around Fieldstone Drive barefoot and unattended, according to police. Joseph Killgren, 35, of Londonderry, was arrested on March 30, 2017, and charged with a single count of endangering the welfare of a child.

This morning around 11:30 a.m., police were called by a concerned resident who reportedly found a 3-year-old walking around Fieldstone Drive without any shoes on and unattended, according to reports online.

“Officers responded, located the child, and began a search for the child’s parents,” according to Det. Chris Olson of the Londonderry Police Department. “After conducting an exhaustive search of the area and sending out the child’s picture via social media in an effort to identify the child and his family, we received a tip that led us to the child’s father, (Killgren).”

Officers found Killgren at just after 1:30 p.m., spoke to him, and he was arrested.

Killgren was held on $5,000 cash bail and will be arraigned in Derry District Court tomorrow. The boy was released to his biological mother, according to Olson.
