2. BEAU BIDEN IN DERRY TODAY: Tagg Romney, Mitt's oldest son, was in Londonderry earlier this week. And today, Joe Biden's son, Beau Biden, is expected to make a stop at MaryAnn's Diner in Derry around 11 a.m.

3. SPECIAL TOWN COUNCIL MEETING TODAY: The Town Council will hold a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. at the Londonderry Country Club at 56 Kimball Road to explore concerns about noise from two nearby firing ranges.

4. MENINGITIS SCARE AT LONDONDERRY HIGH: In case you missed it, Superintendent Nathan Greenberg sent a letter home to parents on Tuesday informing them that a faculty member at Londonderry High School has viral meningitis. The state says there is no public health issue at this time, however.

5. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On this day in 1957, The Soviet Union inaugurated the "Space Age" with its launch of Sputnik, the world's first artificial satellite. In January 1958, Sputnik's orbit deteriorated, as expected, and the spacecraft burned up in the atmosphere.
