Five Things: 'Beautiful Lengths' Event This Morning

The ZBA is also scheduled to meet tonight, and a New England Contra Dance will be held at the Senior Center.

1) A rainy afternoon. Expect afternoon showers today, with a high of 41. There will be more showers tonight, with a low of 33.

2) Pantene Beautiful Lengths at LHS today. More than 160 students, parents and staff will have their hair cut simultaneously at 8:40 this morning at Londonderry High School's Day of Giving Celebration, part of the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign. The hair will be made into wigs to be distributed free to cancer patients undergoing treatment.

3) Zoning board meets tonight. The Zoning Board of Adjustment will meet at 7 p.m. in the Moose Hill Council Chambers at Londonderry Town Hall. Click here to see the meeting agenda.

4) Dance the night away. A New England Contra Dance will be held from 8 to 11 tonight at the Londonderry Senior Center, located at 525 Mammoth Road, according to the Derry News.

5) On this day in 1908, U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt declared the massive Grand Canyon in northwestern Arizona a national monument. Today, more than 5 million people visit the canyon each year.
