Community Corner

Guest Speaker: UMass Lowell Professor Jacob Lam

Professor of microbiology at University of Massachusetts, Lowell will be speaking tonight about "rewiring not retiring". Join us at 7 p.m.

Join us tonight at the Marrion Gerrish Community Center in Derry to hear Professor Lam’s speech about an ”Unexpected Encounter”. Professor Jacob Lam will take us on a journey through his Toastmaster’s experience. Jay Lam is grateful to Toastmasters’ training received in years past that empowered his communication and leadership skills. At “half time”, Jay is not retiring but re-wiring by renewing his Toastmasters communications and leadership projects at the New Life Toastmasters Club, Chelmsford, MA. Jay wishes to keep on learning and serving among people who wish to expand their communication skills particularly especially among international students.

The CORE Toastmasters club meets every Monday night at the Marrion Gerrish Community Center and is focused on helping you overcome your fear of public speaking. Whether it’s giving presentations or seminars at work or just interviewing for that new job, Toastmasters can help. We are a group of professionals from real estate, finance, engineering and aviation industry that give each other effective feedback on their communication skills.

Join us every Monday night at 7 p.m. to hear motivating speeches, participate in impromptu speaking and sharpen your evaluation skills. Visit our website at www.coretm.org to learn more.
