Is it Time to Change NH's State Motto?

A Democratic candidate has come under fire for a 7-year-old opinion piece.

This morning, the New Hampshire Young Republicans sent out a press release criticizing Democratic Executive Council candidate Chris Pappas for writing in a 2005 opinion piece that it's time to change New Hampshire's state motto, "Live Free or Die."

Pappas's campaign manager, Huck Montgomery, says the remark was part of a point-counterpoint argument, and Pappas does not think the state motto needs to be changed.

But it got us thinking. Does "Live Free or Die" still fit New Hampshire? Or is it time to think about changing it? Share your thoughts in the comments field below.
