VIDEO: What's a Rock 'N' Folk Giant Sound Like?
Singer-songwriter from Austin, Texas, goes NXNE – plays Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry.
James McMurtry, the singer-songwriter who jokingly describes himself as a "beer salesman," played to a packed Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry on March 9, 2013.
The song set included "Rachel's Song," "Choctaw Bingo," "Ruby and Carlos," "Levelland," and "We Can't Make It Here." It didn't include, despite a young woman in the audience insisting for it, "Lights of Cheyenne."
The Texan was on a brief tour of the Northeast. He's played in New Hampshire before (I've seen him perform with his band at The Stone Church in Newmarket). And if he has a future day, get your tickets. As Stephen King was quoted in Entertainment Weekly, "The simple fact is that James McMurtry may be the truest, fiercest songwriter of his generation..."
