Why are you seeking elective office?

I firmly believe America is headed in the wrong direction as a direct result of Maggie Hassan’s rubber-stamp support of Joe Biden. I’m running to save America from their socialist policies that have resulted in record high inflation, a crisis at the border, and devastatingly high energy prices.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Inflation is causing too much harm for so many people, and the long term effects of the reckless spending that led us here could push us to the brink of an economic catastrophe. We desperately need to put an end to the endless printing of money and restore sanity in Washington.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I am the most conservative candidate running for the United States Senate, with a proven record of delivering results. From being named the pro-family house member of the year as a 19-year-old, one-term State Representative in 1997, to my time running New Hampshire’s premier conservative grassroots advocacy organization, my conservative credentials are unmatched. In Londonderry, I grew the town’s tax base by $2.2 billion by cutting red tape and leading the state in economic development during my tenure, and returned $11 million to the property taxpayers in budget surpluses. Over the past few years, I’ve overseen the state’s three largest economic engines, the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, Portsmouth International Airport, and the ports and harbors at Portsmouth.

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)

Maggie Hassan has been an absent Senator. She hasn’t done anything to fight inflation, stop the spending, lower energy prices, secure the border, protect parental rights in education, or stand up for election integrity. She has done the exact opposite in office, and has voted with Joe Biden 96% of the time. She is simply far out of touch with the Granite State.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.

I believe firmly in restoring America’s energy independence by unleashing domestic energy production, and by taking an “all of the above” approach to energy that includes clean nuclear energy. I believe in securing the border to stop the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs into our communities, and I am the only candidate running with a comprehensive border security plan that has been endorsed by the National Border Patrol Council. I believe in term limits and banning stock trading by members of congress to drain the swamp of the career politicians and opportunists that have put themselves ahead of the people they were elected to represent. I have many more comprehensive policy positions that can be found at KevinSmithforSenate.com.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Over the past four years, I’ve overseen the state’s three largest economic engines: the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, Portsmouth International Airport, and the ports and harbors at Portsmouth. As Town Manager of Londonderry, I grew the town’s tax base by $2.2 billion by leading New Hampshire in economic development. I also returned $11 million to property taxpayers in budget surpluses by keeping spending in check. At Pease, we saw a similar explosion of economic growth under my tenure.

The best advice ever shared with me was:

Be humble and always remember that success is a result of a team effort.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I firmly believe America’s best days are still ahead of us, but that it’s going to take strong conservative principles and elected officials with a backbone to bring our country back from the brink. We need to promote strong family values, personal responsibility, and small government to lead America away from the socialism and government dependency Joe Biden and Maggie Hassan have fostered over the past 18 months.
