LHS' Willis Up for NH Teacher of the Year

Peter Willis faces some steep competition after receiving a prestigious honor.

Londonderry High School social studies teacher Peter Willis is among the 36 nominees for the 2014 New Hampshire Teacher of the Year award.

Willis is one of several Southern New Hampshire nominees on the list, which is attached to this article as a PDF. He has worked at Londonderry High School for more than 25 years. He teaches Freshmen Humanities and World History and coaches the girls' volleyball team.

The New Hampshire Department of Education will announce the semifinalists in mid-April, while the finalists will be selected in June and the winner will be announced in September, according to NHDOE's website.

A ceremony will take place next Monday in Concord to recognize all of the nominees.
